Privacy Policy for Degreez

Degreez is a temperature conversion app for converting between Celsius and Fahrenheit. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled by Degreez, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information Degreez Handles

Degreez does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, health information, or other personal profile information.

The app stores some settings and app activity locally on your device so the app can function as expected. This may include your most recent temperature input, selected conversion direction, preferred decimal precision, appearance preference, whether you have removed ads, conversion count used for review prompt timing, and related app preferences. This information is used only to provide app functionality and is not sent to our servers by Degreez.

If you copy or share a converted result, that action is handled by iOS and the destination you choose. Degreez places the selected result on the clipboard only when you tap the copy button.

Advertising

The free version of Degreez displays banner ads using Google AdMob and related Google advertising technology. Google may collect or receive information from the app and your device to provide, measure, protect, and improve ads. This may include information such as IP address, general location derived from IP address, device identifiers such as the advertising identifier where permitted, advertising data, app interaction data, diagnostics, crash logs, and performance data.

Depending on your region and device settings, Degreez may show privacy consent prompts or make privacy options available in the app settings. On iOS, you may also be asked whether you allow tracking. If you do not allow tracking, the Google Mobile Ads SDK should not send the advertising identifier in ad requests, but ads may still be shown.

You can remove banner ads with the one-time in-app purchase offered in Degreez. If ads are removed, Degreez no longer requests banner ads for the app experience associated with that entitlement.

In-App Purchases

Degreez offers a one-time in-app purchase to remove banner ads. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card information. The app uses Apple StoreKit to check whether the remove-ads purchase is active and to restore purchases when requested.

Apple's handling of App Store purchase information is governed by Apple's own privacy policies and App Store terms.

How Information Is Used

Degreez uses information handled by the app to provide temperature conversions, remember preferences, display or remove ads, manage consent and privacy choices, process purchase entitlements, restore purchases, support app review prompts, diagnose issues, and comply with applicable platform, legal, and security requirements.

Data Sharing

Degreez does not sell your personal information. Degreez does not share your temperature entries with our servers.

Information may be shared with service providers only as needed for app functionality, advertising, consent management, purchase processing, analytics or diagnostics provided by integrated platform services, legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, or to protect rights and safety. Key third parties involved in the app may include Apple for App Store distribution and purchases, and Google for AdMob advertising and consent tools.

Data Retention

Local app preferences remain on your device until you change them, reset them where the app provides that option, or delete the app. Some local information may also be included in device backups controlled by iOS or Apple, depending on your device settings.

Advertising, diagnostics, consent, and purchase-related data handled by Google or Apple is retained according to their respective policies.

Your Choices

You can change the app's appearance and conversion precision in Degreez settings.

You can use the privacy options shown in Degreez settings when they are required or available for your region.

You can manage tracking permission in iOS Settings.

You can remove ads by purchasing the one-time remove-ads upgrade.

You can delete Degreez from your device to remove locally stored app data from the app installation.

You can contact us to ask privacy questions or request help with privacy-related concerns.

Children

Degreez is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the issue.

International Users

Degreez may be available in multiple countries. Third-party services used by the app, including Apple and Google services, may process information in countries other than where you live. Those services are responsible for their own processing practices as described in their privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of Degreez after the updated policy is posted means the updated policy applies to your use of the app.
